Music has always been my passion. But with a long career in technology companies, there hasn't been a lot of time to spend on my pastimes.
A few years ago that began to change when I was asked if I would join a couple of other guys and play music for a fundraiser at a hospital. One of them, Dick Stenson, is the president of Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro, and Dick plays bass. My brother, Griff O'Brien, has played drums since he was 7 years old. And I've played piano since childhood as well.
So we agreed to play a gig, and without anyone asking, we were represented in the program as "The Caine O'Brien Trio," and the name stuck. We've played a dozen gigs or so over the last three years. There's a picture above, playing cocktail music at a "thank you" event for donors. The second picture is of my wife and me, and Griff and his wife Catherine.
